What will happen when I first arrive?
Your first days in our facility may be difficult for you and your loved ones. You are in an unfamiliar place without the comforts of home, and you are with people you don’t know. We understand that your introduction to inpatient drug rehab in Greater Vancouver might be unsettling, and we strive to make the process as stress-free as possible. When you arrive, your intake will include the following steps:
You and your family will be shown around the facility, and you will get to meet the staff who will be working with you
Your family will say goodbye and leave, so that you can start to settle in and get to know your way around
Your belongings will be searched to ensure that we are not admitting any alcohol, drugs or items that can get in the way of recovery
You will be shown to your room, where you will have a chance to unpack
We will schedule a meet-and-greet so that you can get to know your fellow residents
At this point, you may elect to have a one-on-one counseling session to talk about any difficulties you are encountering
We will contact your family to let them know how you are doing
